Sharing is caring!

Stockport Foodbank has been awared the largest share of money for local charities from the £10,000 Vernon Building Society Jubilee Fund.

The Building Society and the Stockport Express joined forces and asked readers to vote for their favourite good causes.

Express readers collected tokens to support their chosen charity or community group and the Stockport Foodbank received the most votes and was awarded £1,313.

The Foodbank has used the money to buy Mother and Baby packs, comprising disposable nappies and baby wipes.

Twenty charities in all received cash with Stockport Foster Carers’ Association and Stockport Cerebral Palsy Society also receiving over £1,000 each.
